Description The term Brainstorming has become a commonly used word in the English language as a generic term for creative thinking. The basis of brainstorming is a generating ideas in a group situation based on the principle of suspending judgment - a principle which scientific research has proved to be highly productive in individual effort as well as group effort. The generation phase is separate from the judgment phase of thinking.
Advantages Ideal method for generating hundreads of ideas, or options of ways of thinking in a given scenario. The rules here are in the priliminary round, do not negate or evaluate any idea coming from any participants, and trying to build on, and better someones idea. This method is ideal for a group session where all the stakeholders gather in an informal meeting environment and one co-ordinator takes a responsibility of documenting all the ideas.
