Innovation workshop series was started with a workshop on 25th July 2009. Club decided to explore “Six Thinking Hats” on its debut. Deepak Nagar shared his experience on this powerful tool. Deepak Nagar is a Knowledge Management and Innovation Evangelist. He is certified trainer of this method & possesses lot of industry experience in managing innovation activities. It was an amazing day with Deepak. We had a great group that day, mix of students & industry professionals. After the initial rounds of introductions & ice breakers, Deepak gave the theoretical inputs about the topic.
The content was full of real life examples. But without spending more time in theory, the workshop turned into interactive mode before the lunch break & we started the hands on activities.
Suddenly the workshop hall was full of imaginary colorful hats. Somebody was gathering data, somebody was analyzing. Few people were becoming creative but other few were pessimistic. Sounds funny? But this was the real scene. After all, “Six thinking hats” is all about wearing a particular color hat & thinking alike.
The mix of participants helped the workshop in making it really an intriguing exercise, as industry people were sharing their hands on experience & student’s thinking was boundless. The workshop ended with very high energy levels of the participants. There was an eagerness to try this method on their respective projects/ activities & of course attend the next encounter with another such interesting innovation method.
